Cita becomes an Official Rescue Dog: A proud moment to end 2023

11/11/2023

I’m beyond thrilled to share the incredible news that Cita - Duckmoors Bright Skye, along with her dedicated owner Waltraud, has successfully passed her final exam of 2023 and is now an official rescue dog! This achievement marks a significant milestone in Cita's journey, reflecting the hard work and dedication that both she and Waltraud have put into their training.
Waltraud shared her joy, expressing how proud she is of Cita for reaching this important goal. The journey to becoming a certified rescue dog was not easy, and there’s still much work ahead, but this moment is a true testament to Cita’s abilities and determination.
As 2023 comes to a close, I couldn't be prouder of Cita’s accomplishments. Her success as a newly certified rescue dog is just the beginning, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for this remarkable team. Congratulations to Cita and Waltraud—your hard work has truly paid off!

Cita shines at her last Working Test of 2023 in Güssing

10/26/2023

Picture
I’m happy to share the latest news about Cita - Duckmoors Bright Skye and her incredible performance at the Working Test in Güssing, Austria—her final test for 2023. Competing in the newcomer category, Cita finished the year on a high note, securing 7th place out of 32 starters.

With 19 dogs passing the test, Cita’s result was particularly impressive, missing the "very good" rating by just one point. Despite this narrow miss, Waltraud, Cita’s proud owner, couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Cita also earned the distinction of being the best Golden Retriever in the competition—a true testament to her "golden power."
This achievement marks a fantastic end to Cita's working test season for 2023, and I couldn't be prouder of the progress she and Waltraud have made. I look forward to seeing what this duo will accomplish in the coming year!
Congratulations!

A little prince was born

9/17/2023

DREAM.
BELIEVE.
DO.
REPEAT.
We dreamed, we believed, we did .. and we repeated too unfortunately (now I’m laughing after it finished in a best possible way, I was not before!)

Let’s welcome our second singleton puppy
Jazzie gave birth to a big singleton boy naturally, what a rockstar she was to manage it within an hour as a first-time mom! She is absolutely in love with her son from the first second and keeps an eye on him nonstop. Thanks God for such a good mothers!

Well, we are a good example of the other side of the breeding now, when you invest two times thousands of euros, travel 4000km and the fate is still not on our side. This time an arrogant officer on FR-UK borders ruined our dream as she banned Jazz from entering UK, cancelled our boarding at the worst time when she was in higher progesterone already and ready for mating. 1 hour of fight with stupid officers, during which an old pair with 5 terriers entered the pet reception and they did not managed them, they got off the leash and immediately attacked Jazz, even fight between each other. Jazz was absolutely in shock, hanging in the air while I was kicking f…. terriers. Thanks to a foreigner who helped us to get them away from us because the old pair did just nothing. That was the moment we gave up and went away with limping and totally shocked Jazz. We spent a day in France on the beach and after calming down all the emotions we decided to give it another shot, at that point there was nothing to lose besides extra money for another hotel and train.

Next day we just tried to enter UK again and hoped for another officer and they let us go with no troubles, same passport, same vaccination, no explanation. I’ve travelled to UK many times, but this was the first time we experienced such a non-sense situation in which nothing helped. I can’t even write lesson learned, because we did nothing wrong, Jazz travelled with all valid documents and vaccinations .

So, that was our unforgettable journey with a lot of emotions and we started a new one with a little boy now.
Not what we were hoping for, but only important they are both fit and healthy and no surgery was needed.

Cita's First Rescue Exam: A Step Closer to Her Mission Test

9/17/2023

Picture
I'm thrilled to share the news that  Cita - Duckmoors Bright Skye, under the guidance of her dedicated owner Waltraud, has successfully passed her first rescue exam, the FCI IPO RH Fläche V. This milestone marks an important step in Cita's journey toward becoming a certified rescue dog.

Waltraud shared some insights from their experience, noting that while it was a long day, it was ultimately a successful one. Cita performed well in obedience and dexterity, with some exercises being particularly strong, while others were a bit sloppy. In the search portion, Cita's incredible nose shone through—she found the missing person in just seconds!
I'm confident that Cita will rise to the challenge. I'm incredibly proud of the progress Cita and Waltraud have made together and excited to see what the future holds for this promising team!
Congratulations!

Cita at the Working Test in Maria Schmolln

I'm excited to share another achievement by Cita - Duckmoors Bright Skye, who recently participated in the Working Test in Maria Schmolln, Austria. Her owner, Waltraud, shared an amusing yet challenging moment from the day.

During the test, Cita faced an unexpected distraction—a cat wandered into the search area! Naturally curious, Cita was momentarily distracted, making the task more difficult. Thankfully, the cat eventually ran off, and Cita was able to refocus on her task.
Despite this unexpected challenge, Cita successfully completed the test, finishing in 9th place. Her ability to overcome distractions and still pass the test is a testament to her growing skills and resilience. I’m proud of their progress and excited to see her continue to develop!
Congratulations!

A little princess was born in our kennel

5/30/2023

After a month of many worries a little miracle arrived in our house yesterday!
We knew Toffee is expecting a singleton for a long time and we were not sure how it all ends, but obviously had a bit of luck this time and a little princess was born in her forever home
Both girls are super fit and the little one gained 100g in first 24 hours already, so looks like whole milk bar is working .
Toffee as an experienced mom fell in love with her little daughter immediatelly!
So welcome to the world little Toffee x Buddy girl with no name as we were sure it will be a boy or nobody.
Many thanks to my friends around (you know who you are) who supported me mentally every day and kept my brain and nerves calm until the last second
Kelly, one more time thanks for your Buddy even it did not finish as we both hoped!

Happy Birthday, Finn!

a bit late, but Finn celebrated his 10th Birthday few days ago.
Happy Birthday, Finn!!!

You prove that 10 is only a number in your case. We had a wonderful picking-up season together, you’re still the one of the most reliable dogs handler can ever have. The best sparing partner for young dogs here and the best dog ever for my daughter who is trying to learn the secrets from our retriever world. The Goldens' world definetely needs more dogs like he is.
I wish you the best health from the bottom of my heart so we can enjoy as much trainings, hunting seasons and many more together ;-)
We wish Happy Birthday and all the best to all Finn’s siblings!

He or better ME got a strange Birthday gift :)

We arranged the date at the last minute with reprodoctor and managed to get some extra frozen semen from Finn with an excellent quality, so hopefully one day I will be lucky enough to have his offspring!

We are back home from our UK trip to meet Buddy :)
Toffee and Buddy fell in love immediately with each other and we hope we brought home our future Duckmoors litter :)
Buddy is a true example of the breed. The sweetest dog you can imagine with excellent character and great working abilities. His achievements speak for him.
Keep fingers crossed for our special litter!
Thank you, Kelly Rogers-Davison for EVERYTHING! Even Buddy's face is white already, he is just great!
